Hello, new member here. I’m looking forward to meeting some of you in person soon. I’ve already signed up for three birding adventures this spring/summer with The Pipits!
Let me share that I attended the ROM just recently and saw the Crawford Lake exhibit. It was quite interesting. It’sincluded in your general admission ticket so if you go be sure to seek it out. Be aware it is a bit hidden away and quite a small exhibit, perhaps allow 45 minutes (at a slow pace) to view. The day I was there the main (interactive) part of the exhibit was not working. I don’t know if the breakdown was just that day or whether it is permanently offline. Hard to say, perhaps the exhibit has a lot more content that just wasn’t available at the time of my viewing.
The ROM is always a great day trip. I am never disappointed even just revisiting the permanent exhibits but I can also highly recommend two temporary exhibits open now. Wildlife Photographer of the Year is on until March 29 as well as Sharks, available to March 22. Both are sprawling exhibits, fascinating in their scope and dense in the breadth of information presented.
Admission to both do cost extra on top of the ROM’s general admission fee but I thought it was very good value. We spent about 6 hours to visit the three area altogether.
A 15% discount on total admission fees is pretty readily available by using a discount code. I used “PRESTO” but quite a few birding / nature clubs have an available discount code for the ROM as well (I may know a few 😉, reach out!)
Have fun if you go!
