My motive for my presentation on "Secular Religion and Non-Supernatural Spirituality" at the Agnostics Group was to attempt to point out that concepts such as religion, spirituality, gods and faith, were far more pervasive than normally recognised, and that ideologies and supernatural type religions could not be understood unless seen within this wider context.
It was strongly pointed out to me that I should desist because my precise all-embracing definitions would confuse the group-thinkers of the herd-mentality (Atheists as well as Theists).
I retorted with the question: Isn't that what philosophy is all about?
