I created some bait hives and used a combo of lemongrass oil and propolis (dissolved in alcohol), and used a small spray bottle to apply it to the inside of a bait box.

The good news is that I caught a swarm (thanks, Phil, for the tutorial!).

The bad news is that the solution destroyed the spray container after a couple of weeks. The container was plastic and had previously had a dilute alcohol solution in it with no problems. The propolis was dissolved in 90% alcohol, so a bit more concentrated.

So my question is, for those using a similar approach, how do you store and dispense your bait?

Thanks,
mtt

Actually, the alcohol probably isn’t the culprit.
lemongrass oil dissolves some plastics, like polystyrene, I think. (PS)
Polyethylene is ok.
Polypropylene is ok.
PET is ok.
The LGO we bought came in a glass bottle.
