Today our contact Claire came out to extract the bees. By the way, she's a wonderful bee keeper in Oakland so if you ever want a colony she's happy to give them away for free. The queen wasn't too hard to find. She was nice and big and just dropped in (instead of hiding).... And Claire was able to scoop her right
Here are some videos that show the whole progress.

We are so glad to meet you and hope we can visit and talk more about bees!

WELL AT LEAST SHE THANK ME ,  this would be my reply :

Unfortunately you will not be able to reach me , I just blocked all your contacts info . You have to understand that I am very selective with who I spend  my precious time , something you learn with life , it is not on the  internet or AI

I am quite certain that you will understand , Should  I want bees I will buy packages rather than getting them from someone from out of town , that just undercut me , ( You can compare it as getting a gallon of gas from trump )           My experience with bees is very modest  ,  I am 75 , my first bees and honey harvest was when I was 5-6 years old and could barrely  reach the handle of the extractor ! ( they all laughed) Back then for that great uncle it was a necessity !

I  visited this job site , met with owner and contractors  , got everything set then ….

There are words to define this you all know them so I will spare you !

If I call and say it is a block away from me I can handle it mean exactely that .

This is what I learned from  old timers , something I leaved my entire life by , when you shake hands and say yes it mean that , no contract no backpedal , and yes it had it’s own price , something to learned from , Never they would lower lower themselves nor do I , in undercuting anyone for self gratification

By the way you owe me 2 mason jars of Honey 8 oz with screw on lid the real one and please not from Target ! It is the token of appreviation I give to anyone when I answer their swarm call , pit it in the mail box I have no desire to meet

you , I do hope that in all your grandeur you do give honey to every callers !

Let put it another way , when the weather clear I will visit every fire station in town hand a jar of honey to everyone of them , Time to keep the Bee business local ! Okies you belong  on the other side of the bridges .

I am very familiar with all building codes by the way , having totally rebuilt this 120 plus years old house on my own , above california and Alameda codes and also very familiar with potential liabilities, this is why the Contractor was involved . Also built our 6 bedroom family stone house in France meeting the IBF .

No I do not want someone from out of town to give me the bees invested my time on they can put them where ever the sun never  shine !

I  like to thank Andre for being professional .

       Joel .

Good morning Joel,
It’s a bit hard for me to understand what this email is regarding exactly, but it references my name and it sounds like a job I completed yesterday in Alameda for a lovely family.
I bid on the job (not far from my house actually), as did you, it sounds like.
I know it can be frustrating when you think you get a job but it turns out you did not.
I am unaware that they hired someone else but sometimes miscommunications happen. I will say they are wonderful people and one of them has since joined acba and is planning to become a bee keeper.

When I remove bees from someone who would like to become a bee keeper, they have a standing offer for bees from me, free of charge. I also do not charge for bees I get from extractions and offer them to anyone in need. I do not believe in the sale of other beings based on personal ethics but do not judge anyone else who does.

I also offer the honey from an extraction to the people I extract from in gratitude for caring about the bees enough to go about addressing them without harm. I myself don’t consume or sell honey so we are not competing in that sense, I’m unsure if that was being implied…

In terms of extractions I come from a family of contractors and have a wide breadth of knowledge when it comes to construction and architecture. I feel my rates are reasonable and accessible and I conduct myself in a professional manner from start to finish. I care a lot about people and bees, as I’m sure you do too.

I’m sorry if there was a miscommunication regarding bids on a job. It’s happened to me before as well, despite all the help of the wonderful people at acba, one of the most robust and comprehensive swarm/extraction list/systems in NorCal and the people calling in looking to do the right thing.
Sometimes despite everyone’s best intentions, miscommunication happens.
I chalk it up to the nature of the work and the complexity of interpersonal dynamics but also try to give people, the benefit of the doubt, it’s what I hope to receive.
It would be great if, next time something like this happens, instead of suggestively slandering another bee fellow and extractor, you just reached out to inquire what may have happened. I have taken that approach and found out, most often, that at the very least, it was a situation where no one meant harm. I assure you that is the case here.

I wish you the best in your bee and professional pursuits,
Claire

There is nothing hard go understand ,with the owner and contractor after opening the outside wall , locating them using infrared camera and endoscope , they were going to seal the room then I got the text ,
I simply want the return of my investment, I think it is logical . So 2 authentic 8 oz mason jars full of honey , what it cost me to seal the deal .
I will not get the owner property owner involved aside the fact if they want to see a working bee garden they will have to go somewhere else , I do not sponsor flaky peoples .
Leave them in my mail box The Yellow house around the block . My info are listed in the ACBA , no calls !
Thank you . Joel .

It is tme to reevaluate and or remove myself from the swarm list and rely with my contacts .

As the person who manages the club lists, I ask that nobody send any further replies to this thread. This is not an appropriate discussion for the list, and does not represent our best efforts at being a welcoming community.

I've heard a couple of people's feedback about this, and I'll shortly be discussing some list changes with the board.

In the meantime: no more replies to this thread. Thank you.
