Hey all.

I am thinking of building a bee vacuum and not sure which size hose to use.  I am torn between using a 2.5" dust collection hose or a 1.25" vacuum hose.  Any thoughts or insight?

Thanks,

Gabriel

I would use a 2.5" hose because using a smaller diameter hose has a risk of clogging and also the strong suction force will slam the bees against the opposite wall  inside of the collection container when vacuuming.

Bigger hose and make sure you can control the airflow.
Thanks,

2.5 and inside on the vover hag a piece of of cotton fabric so the bee dont land on hard surface  I have seen dome in the old county with foam . Not styrofoam and on top a sliding gate
To control the air flow ( mandatory) you can block the outtake or air flow by stapling some scotch brite material to prevent the bees from

If you can find non-corrugated (smooth) tubing you’ll kill fewer bees
