"Remove Paragraph Returns" prompt doesn't remove paragraph returns

Please take a look at the screenshot below.

Please forgive me if I misunderstand something basic. I am a new user of this software.

Could someone advise as to why this command is not doing what it would seem to be designed to do, and what I may do to remedy this?

I don't know what cleaner actions you are using in your custom cleaner "Remove Paragraph Returns"

I'm going to assume you are trying to turn this into a single paragraph. In the case, you'll want the custom cleaner to look something like:

#1 takes 2+ Returns and turns them into a single return.

#2 Goes through a list of lines with single returns and transforms it into a paragraph (a new paragraph is indicated by two returns in a row)
