Who compiled this installer???? I need to look at the script file and see what files or registry entries have been changed, as the installer of tesseract 3.02 has decided to kill another piece of software on my system.

I can extract the exe with 7zip, but it doesnt show the script.bin, which is what i need, to see what is happening.

Thanks

It was me ;-)
Installer was created on Windows XP SP3 32bit. Later (if needed) I can send nsis[1] version. Last version of script (not update for 3.03 version yet) is in svn repository[2].

Following issues are open for installer:
  • 901 [3]: Installation fails (WIN XP) due to Registry settings (I can not reproduce it, I guess there could be problem with some security sw like antivirus)
  • 1065[4]: Can not uninstall tesseract completely when "Just for me" option is selected while installation
  • 1066 [5] Tesseract gets installed even if we choose "dont install" option
Any patch, improvements is welcomed!

I have looked into you NSI file and it looks very simple and logical and nothing out of the ordinary. It only creates two registry keys and just copies some files into the tesseract install folder, so nothing out of the norm there, but I have a repeatable issue in where if I install using the installer on a machine which has a ceratin software package on it, the program no longer runs. If i uninstall tesseract it still doesnt make any difference, so was expected a left over file or dll registration, but don't see that in the nsi so still not sure where the issue is. The other program has a custom DLL which does facial and LPR recognition, so I suspect it using some common linked file to tesseract.
