Getting error for language except english

to tesseract-ocr

Hi ,

I installed tesseract-ocr and tesseract-ocr-hin (On ubuntu) and tried to ran hindi version by command

tesseract test.jpg text -l hin

but got the error :-

Tesseract Open Source OCR Engine v3.04.01 with Leptonica

read_params_file: parameter not found:

Please help resolving this.

Hi, do you have the Hindi files in your tessdata directory? I'm no expert, but I ran into this with English, and had to manually add the files (see this link: https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tessdata/releases/tag/3.04.00)

I got it resolved using pytesseract instead of using tesseract from terminal
