number detection on small images + ignoring symbols

Hey guys!

I'm pretty new to tesseract and I'm struggling with some stuff.
At the moment trying to recognize different words and numbers from screenshots.
Reading words and names works very well with a 99% accuracy.
But tesseract does not seem to recognize numbers very well. The pictures do not have the best solution,
but should be readable. Another problem is, that there is a symbol on every picture i'm feeding. (i can't cut it way, because it's "moving" from picture to picture.)
Just check out the attached files.
I'm using tesseract 3.05
Do you guys could help me finding an approach in order to improve the quality?

Hi Lars,
Can you share the output you have ? 
For me, with tesseract 4.00 alpha, it works perfectly except for that little symbol (see attached file)
