Hi all ,

I am a GNU/Linux user with Fedora distro on my machine right now . But most of the tutorials and  packages mentioned for testing the engine are skewed towards Ubuntu ;) . Asking for general opinion if its better to work on Ubuntu distro or package them for Fedora and work on it . Which in your opinion would be the better option . If its Ubuntu , I would create yet another partition and install Ubuntu ,

Ubuntu is most popular linux distribution and Ray tried to catch Ubuntu release deadlines with tesseract 3.02.02 and 3.03 (still not released) version.

So if you are able to compile tesseract by yourself from source I do not see any advantage to use Ubuntu instead of Fedora.

IMO more important is that you are familiar with tools provided by your OS/distribution.

Hi ,

@Zdenko - thank you for the reply .

But , when I tried to install YAGF (third party tool ) I had some issues in Fedora .

And currently  heavily loaded with Debugging tools . Let me see how I can go ahead .
