Segmentation fault with `tesseract -v`

Hi, I'm building tesseract from source and getting the following segmentation fault

(gdb) run -v

How did you build tesseract? What platform did you use? What compiler? etc. please communicate details otherwise you are alone with your problems...

Does it crash when you run it from the command line?
