Off Topic: merge Spaces in words by OCR old books

Hello,

I scan and ocr old books for a historial Society.

In some books, the line have some words with estra Spaces, par example B ue rg er m ei ster ei for Buergermeisterei.

Now, after ocr this books, I must merge this extra Spaces once per once.

My Question: give it a Makro or Extension for LibreOffice Writer or Notepad++, which can help me ?

You can also read programmatically the text and remove undesired spaces, of course, after your algorithm …

Another idea, check the read options for tesseract.

Look, if you tell me the rule of trimming spaces, I will write you a program that remove spaces in your text :)

Hello Flaviu,

for read the ocred text, Iwork with LibreOffice Writer.

My Idea is an Extension, which work with the Dictionary of the Language - in my cause Germany.

When start the Excension, it search new words, per exampled from following Line

B ur germ eister von St V it h

the first Charakter "B", mark it-I change the marked Text to "B ur germ eister"  and the Extension wait for the specific keu -par example <Space>- which say it "del all Spaces"

after delet the Spaces, the Extension search the next Charakter

<Escape> end the Extension

Sorry, when tis idea ist mitchmatch; my Language is German und my English is a little bad ;-)

No problem with your english, I am not a native english spoken language too, but I understand you. 

Good idea with the Extension, I don't know that extension. And things are going ? Are handling well ?
