FreeOCR stops working when trying to OCR in Greek (ell or grc) languages

Congratulations to all your team!

When I use freeOCR with english language, all work fine.

I successfully installed Greel (ell) and Ancient Greek (grc) as extra languages, but when trying to OCR, freeOCR stops working.

I tried to run this program in compatibility mode (7, vista and XP) but always crashes.

Could you help me??

I am assuming that FreeOCR is using an older version of tesseract engine and hence does not support the newer traineddata files for grc etc.

On Windows, you can give a try to the binaries built by Simon on cygwin with the latest code from github - http://domasofan.spdns.eu/tesseract/

Good morning from Greece.

Some problems forced me to try ShreeDevi 's answer today.

I 've downloaded the latest version of tesseract 's engine (7-8-2015) but the result is still the same... FreeOCR begins the processing and soon I get a small window saying that tesseract.exe has stopped working. By pressing the close button, freeOCR does not terminate, but finally I cannot work either with Greek or with ancient Greek... I use v3 of train files.

Any suggestion please???

I am using free ocr version 5.41(March 2015) works fine for me in Vista OS for kan.traineddata file..

I renamed existing tesseract.exe in the FreeOCR as "tesseract.exe-Old"

added folder containing teseract-ocr 3.04.(if zipped will have 82mb)

The said my folder contains only all exe files generated in cygwin + all Cygin. dll files - to avoid confusion..

it would be help to inform what error displayed before crashed?

Thanks a lot sriranga(82yrsold).

What I had NOT do was to copy all Cygin.dll files

The result is almost what I was expected (ancient Greek isn't a usual and easy case for ocr programs), freeOCR now works fine and doesn't crash.
