What am I doing wrong for maths/ Equation?

I downloaded math/ equation module and tried a page on it.

It is giving absolutely gibberish.

The original attached image has very clear sin, cos, tan cot, theta fraction inverse and all sort of things.

What have I missed. Tried setting various fonts in pc ms word, but nothing worked. Is any specific font required to see it, or I have wrongly processed it?
