How tesseract use dictionary

Hi all,

I have a question on the process of tesseract when he use dictionary. I have a user-words dictionary with one word : PROJECT. I have trained tesseract to my own handwriting. So when i test the result, tesseract chooses PRODECT. I use multiple param as penalty or other but no effect.

So i wonder if tesseract can find a word on user dictionary or the user dictionary is just for consolidate the best choice ?
