Tesseract 4 Handwriting recognition

Hello,

is the new Tesseract 4 viable for Handwriting recognition?

The FAQ says no.

But the recommended Lipi Toolkit Project was last updated Jun 25, 2013 which gives the impression its

not really up to date.

So is the FAQ answer still the same for Tesseract 4?
