Hello everyone,

I'm beginning an academic work about OCR technology on mobile devices and i was looking for some fonts for a bibliographic revision about that.

Does anybody know where do i can find good referênces about OCRs history and/or some technical stuff about OCRs operating?

Thanks.

Where have you looked so far?  One of the top hits on Google Scholar is for

Mori, Shunji, Ching Y. Suen, and Kazuhiko Yamamoto. "Historical review of OCR research and development." Proceedings of the IEEE 80.7 (1992): 1029-1058.

which sounds like it could be relevant.  Have you already consulted it?

Some of the 841 papers which cite it presumably provide more recent updates.

Ray Smith's paper on Tesseract (linked on the web site) describes the history annd operation of it in particular.
