Hey,
for a final assigment I need a written source what the confidence scores are. Meaning what is a 100 and what is 0. Moreover what "-1" is exactly. I already tried to search the documentation but wasnt able to find anything. The only things I found were unofficial blogposts and StackOverflow answers where it was indirictely answered, but those are weak sources...
As this is the tesseract google-group are there any differences to pytesseract? (I couldnt find a pure pytesseract group)

Hi Nick,

I don't think it can be -1.
Confidence score is a probability value, how likely it is.
I think understanding more neural networks might help you.

hope it was of some help.

Hey,
thanks for your help.
It can definitely return "-1", but now I think that's not an actual confidence score but rather an error that it couldn't find anything to read and/or therefore can't return a confidence score
