Tesseract performance

Have just tested 4.0 beta and the performance is significant better in 3.05.01.. But the character recognition seems sligtly better in 4.0 (have just tested on one image though)

Does the performance (execution time) of Tesseract have any priority in the development?

4.0 performance varies depending on options and training set. e.g. "fast" traindata is faster.
