Hi Izzi,

This feels like a cyber-security test.

If I sign up to receive The Digital Download, will I receive a few issues to lull me into a false sense of security before the real phishing campaign starts?

I found three different cyber-security landing pages on the MoE's website and none of them mention this Mailchimp list.

Hi Ben et al

A solid question, and unfortunately one that I can only answer by asking you to trust me!

As you may know, phishing people and otherwise scamming them is against Mailchimp's terms of service, and as we all know, cyber criminals are a very rule-following bunch so obviously I wouldn't do that.

On a serious note, I promise I won't phish you. Not to open a can of worms but I personally don't think phishing people really improves their cyber security skills and awareness. You are totally correct that it isn't anything on education.govt about the newsletter, we're working on that as we speak. We wanted to get out to this group first because I really want to talk to people who are keen to start this conversation and I reckon Techies for Schools is one of those groups.

And if I haven't convinced you and you think I'm still dodgy, don't worry about signing up - I'll post the issues here as they're published so you can read them without handing over your creds :)

I can verify that both Andrew and Julian are real people both working for the MoE.

They are not holograms, imposters or from the otherside. They made a nice visit to my office a while ago when the team was setup.
