Hi everyone, just checking if your access to App Store (Mac) is still working after the Palo Alto changeover? I got one teacher's Mac that is not, saying can't connect. But works in hotspot.

Hi Arnold,

Interesting, one of the engineers will give you a call soon to investigate further when you are available.

Heya Arnold

Yep I have a school on PA firewall and I have just tested Mac App Store for you and it seems to be working.

Hope you get a timely response from N4L! I've been waiting 3+ weeks so far for a simple query, but each time I follow up all I get is more automated ticket numbers :(

(if any N4L engineers want to look up what the delays are then my tickets numbers are 00664910, 00670693 & and now 00673787)

Hi All

You can test connectivity to all the critical Apple services that Apple devices use day to day by downloading a free tool that we provide from beta.apple.com

I would suggest that for any school that has been upgraded and is having issues, run the tool - it's called Mac Evaluation Utility to find out if you have any critical services blocked

To download, do the following:

  • Goto beta.apple.com
  • Sign in using your Apple School Manager credentials
  • Click on the ‘Resources’ tab and scroll down the list to find the download link to ‘Mac Evaluation Utility’
  • Install the Mac Evaluation Utility onto a Mac that’s connected to your network
  • From the File menu select ’New Report’ and press the ‘play button symbol’ at the top of the screen to generate a report
  • Once finished, you’ll be presented with a summary of the applications finding
  • Scroll down the summary to the heading ‘Apple Network Service’ - you should see everything green
  • If there are issues, problems will be highlighted in yellow or red
  • To export a full report that you can share, goto the File menu and ‘Export Report’
  • Select 'Export as PDF' and if there are issues, share with your service provider / N4L

I hope this helps.
