Google Chromebook login failing when using SSO

Hi team,

Is anyone else experiencing login failures when staff and students try to sign in to Chromebooks using SSO (OIDC and SAML)? 

Notes
- We are using Microsoft Entra ID and currently logging in is down access about 30 schools. No known issues on Google Workspace status page. 
- Not a network issues as the same behaviour is happening in our office and mobile.

We use SSO via Entra for our chromebooks, no students have come to me yet saying they can't login....

We have some students who after logging out are no longer able to log back in.
First we got a "non secure url" error which slowly escalated to an account.google.com error for signing in. After getting past this part I was able to get students to the correct password screen. Unfortunately they then get kicked off the network, the network reconnects and sign in loops. A very general description of the issue here.


Does anyone know what is going on?

Does anyone elses student complete the login process then have the network unavailable prompt come up even though it says the network is connected?

Even the add person button fails with the same error message - So I can't even add myself to the affected devices

Hi Joseph, 

Google support got back to me and we have had to change the following for organisations using OIDC;

User setting: Disable SAML-based single sign-on 
Device Setting: Enable SAML-based single sign-on 
Device Setting: Allow users to go directly to SAML SSO IDP page

Let me know how you get on

Hey thanks for that Jono - had a look but still was n't working. Had to set the SSO Profile to none in google admin, still has a couple of extra splash screens but have successfully logged in a couple of affected users (from home on school devices).
