HI Everyone,

When using Pinterest on our network we have some issues with slow image loading. Some times it goes OK and others not so well. I have tried at the end of the day when all classes have finished and it is better so it could just be Pinterest doing something crazy as all our traffic comes from our external IP address.

When I test my account from home it goes ok.

As soon as I connect to the Global Protect VPN provided by N4L with our PaloAlto Firewall it struggles to load images even outside teaching time

Our Technology and Art department use Pinterest alot.

Does anyone else have any issues with Pinterest who is using N4L?

Regards

Sue Way

Pinterest uses quic for images and probably limit traffic fallback to older protocols.  Quic is generally blocked as its difficult to filter properly.

As to outside hours the period between 3:30 - about 5:30 is awful on the N4L network. Not sure if every school in the country is running a remote backup or if they have purchased time based bandwidth. It is better than it was but performance is still garbage during that time.
