Guidelines for Editing Japanese Sentences

I have written some suggested guidelines for editing Japanese sentences, and received useful feedback from several people. The current version is at:

I've had a slight problem importing it into the "markdown" format used in the wiki. I tried to use the "-" indenting system, and it was fine for first-level indents but fails for second-level. It works fine in the preview, but once I do a "Save", the final version doesn't show things correctly. I also tried the usual HTML <ul><li> ... approach and it too worked fine in the preview and not in the final version.

Any suggestions?

Jim,

CK's version at the top of the page looks fine. You can use the wiki sandbox to see some other examples of formatted text and to do your own experiments.

I'm glad to see you adding this content. Are there any guidelines for editing English sentences that come from the Tanaka Corpus?

 * small changes which improve the quality of a sentence and make it sound more natural are generally fine. Examples of these include:
   * correcting 変換ミス cases;
   * converting a term from kana to kanji or vice-versa;
   * removing unnecessary use of 私は, あなたは, etc.
   * changes such as している to してる;
   * adding よ, の, etc.
   * correcting verb inflections;
   * tidying up the punctuation (this doesn't affect the indexing)

I implemented those changes. All looked fine in the Preview, but when I did a "Save" the two-level indentation had vanished and it had reverted to one lot of bullets. Grrr.

When I when to edit it again, the indentation was OK in the preview....

Any suggestions?  Planned fixes?

I wish I could use vanilla HTML.

I removed the space in front of the first level of <li>.  *
