Turn off Shake-to-wake

I am referring to the internal android setting which turns on your screen when you shake it, not how to make the same function with Tasker.

My phone has Shake-to-Wake and does not have a setting to turn it off. I've called support, walked through all the setting options, and searched all over the internet. There's no programmatic way to turn it off. 

But I wonder if it can be done with Tasker, maybe with one of those extra settings plugins that I remember from years ago. I forget what it's called it's been so long. 

Every time I put it in my pocket it turns back on and senses my skin and sometimes tries to turn on youtube or some such inconvenience.

THe Irony is that I was looking how to turn that on for my zte zpad8  since the power button is recessed in the case. lol

The button IS hard to push, and one of the worst things is I pick it up, carefully push the button, but by the time I do it's already Woke by shaking and so I end up turning it off. Have to turn it on again! Irritating. 
I think the plugin I was looking for is called "Secure Settings" and I plan to dig into it later today.
