The removal of the vibrate and alarm icons from the status bar in Android 12 is a major accessibility issue for me and I'm trying to figure out how to use Tasker to generate them instead.

I can get the vibrate icon to show with a Task using Alert > Notify and go away with Alert > Notify Cancel. The problem getting it to set and clear when the vibrate mode is toggled; i.e. show up when I set vibrate mode and cancel when I set it to any mode other than vibrate.

I've tried reading the Tasker guide, but I couldn't find any explanation about this. I've seen posts other forums from people claiming to have this working, but there's no explanation of how. It's driving my crazy having to pull down the notification shade constantly just to know if my phone is going to ring or vibrate.

I'd like to get the alarm icon back, too, but one thing at a time.

Have you tried setting up a profile that monitors the variable "%SILENT"? You could then do a "Notify" action when that variable changes to "vibrate", and cancel that notification when it changes to "Off" (and perhaps a different notification when it changes to just "silent").

Thank you! Setting the profile condition for the variable %SILENT to "vibrate" did the trick. Note that "vibrate" must be in all lowercase. By the way, where can I find a list of all the variables and their possible conditions?

In case it helps anyone else who's new to this, here's what I did.
1) Make a Task with the Action Alert > Notify. Title: Vibrate mode, Icon: Material > vibrate icon, check Permanent, Priority 5.
2) Make a Profile called Vibrate mode. Add State, Condition: %SILENT ~ vibrate. Add the task from 1). Long press the task, Add Exit Task. Set the Exit Task to do Alert > Notify Cancel.

I didn't need to add another condition for silent because Android still shows that icon. If that is also removed in a future update, then I will add it with the silent icon.

Take a look at the Global Built-in Varaibles section.
