Unable to launch tasks via Google Assistant in Android Auto

I seem to be the only one having this problem, so maybe there's some obscure setting, etc. that I'm missing.

I can run tasks through a Google Assistant voice command ("Run <task name> with Tasker") and this always works, but only if Android Auto is not running. When AA is running, I always get the response, "Sorry, I don't understand." 

I've tried various forms of the command ("Do <task name> in Tasker", etc.), different names for the tasks, moving the tasks to the home project in Tasker, setting them up as App Shortcut Tasks. Oddly enough, when trying the App Shortcut Task method, the response from GA changes to tell me that to do that I have to have an Android phone running that app, which implies that, with AA running, Google doesn't think Tasker is installed. 

Any ideas?

Strange. I've looked all over and no one else seems to be complaining about this. Am I the only one trying to run Tasker via GA commands in the car?

Do you know if this is an intentional decision by Google, or just one of their frequent bugs? More to the point, is there any chance they'll fix/change this so it'll work again?

They didn't say why it doesn't work. But I already had other people complain about the same unfortunately :(

I confirm it don't  work
Google in his infinite wisdom puts restrictions on some if it's services for reasons their staff members are the only ones to understand.
I wanted to set up a simple task to remember my location when driving ("OK google, please note my current location"), in Google Keep for instance.

No way unfortunately ....

I do not have android auto, however I see no reason why it would not work.
