Hi,

imagine this: you have a S21 phone mounted on a tripod. You are wearing Apple AirPods connected to the S21. What I want is: whenever I double tap on the right airpod 10 seconds later the S21 should beep and start to record a slow motion video without further human interaction. 10 seconds later the S21 should beep again and stop recording.

Is this possible to be done with Tasker?

Hi,

I managed to get full logcat traces while I am performing the actions I want to automate. But, of course, the logs are huge and I am not so familiar with how I should filter them. Should I call logcat with some options so the output contains things consumable by tasker and not the whole stuff?

Anyhow: when ...
- My phone is turned on and unlocked and I am in my launcher
- I execute 'adb logcat -c' from my pc
- I open the camera app, switch to timelapse mode, start recording, stop recording
- I dump the log with 'adb logcat -d >/tmp/foobar.txt'

... then I get the following trace:

Oh, sorry, I meant that to catch the double tap on the AirPods, not to start recording...
Also, I meant that you should use the helper in the Logcat Entry event in Tasker to help you catch it :)

To automatically start recording you could use AutoInput to click Samsung's UI for you...

Yes, be patient with me as tasker developer. I bought Tasker beginning 2013 and loved it. It was on all of my phones since then ... but I never had the need to fix/develop something for tasker (and that's something I really love regarding Tasker - it simply worked).

Regarding catching double taps on the airpod vs. starting the S21 camera and record slowmo videos: these are different problems but I have to solve them both. On the double tap on airpods I would like to start the camera app in slowmo mode and record until I receive another doubletap. When the S21 camera app is active and in the right mode then from time to time I see that camera app goes to background without any interaction from my side. Maybe when certain notifications should be presented. I would like my task to also make sure camera app is up and in the right mode.

I managed to control the camera to do 10 sec slowmo videos by using AutoInput. Worked great.

I do have trouble finding the correct messages to be received from the airpods.
I am still working on the event side: do something when I doubletap on my airpod. The number of logcat entries I receive in 3 seconds is so huge that it's is hard to get the right
entry. Especially when the event you want to listen to triggers a lot of activities (in my case spotify starts playing a new song). What I find strange: I do doubletap only once on the airpods during the recording time, so I would expect the the logcat entry which I have to react on also is in the logcat exactly
once. But, to say it with U2: "I still haven't found what I am looking for" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3-5YC_oHjE&ab_channel=U2VEVO). I am still digging and keep you up to date.

Yeah, the logcat can have a lot of stuff sometimes which makes it hard to find what you need (which may not even be there in this case). Hope you find it eventually! :)

Could it really be that a bluetooth device firing a event to go to the next track does not leave traces in logcat?
