Hello there,

I have followed the setup guide here in order to setup a Ring notification that will take me automatically to Ring live view -->

https://www.reddit.com/r/Ring/comments/al83vm/diy_ring_doorbell_monitordisplay/

However whenever I run it, the task has an error of %antouchaction doesn't have a value. I cannot seem to find why this error is occurring as everything appears to be setup exactly as the setup guide above.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks

Rhys

Since this is a 3rd party product and Tasker plug-in, I would suggest contacting them first. After all, you have paid good money for their product and can expect after-sales support from their experts.

Sorry that I don't have a solution ready, obviously I would post it here otherwise.

post the exported description of the profile (context and task)

it looks like %antouchaction is not set, and it may be due to the context... but can't see it to review it

I am having the same issue. I'm a Tasker noob, but have worked thru 3-4 different methods without luck. Error is below:

Can you please export your profile's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the profile in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance

Thanks for the help. The export of the task is below:

    Ring Open (9)
    A1: AutoInput Unlock Screen [ Configuration:Unlocking Screen.

    Android 7 and above:
This will only unlock your screen if you're using a non-secure lock screen or if Smart Lock (Trusted Places, Trusted Devices, etc) is currently active.

    Android 6 and below:
it's highly recommended that you use the Tasker 'System Lock' action at the end of this task. If you don't, your screen's lock will be permanently off and your system might even become unstable.

This action WILL NOT work with a secure screen lock even if you are using Smart Lock. It will only work if you have screen lock security set to none or swipe. Timeout (Seconds):10 ]
    A2: AutoNotification Actions [ Configuration:Notification Apps: Ring
Intercept Action ID: %antouchaction Timeout (Seconds):20 Continue Task After Error:On ]
    A3: Wait [ MS:0 Seconds:45 Minutes:0 Hours:0 Days:0 ]
    A4: AutoInput Action [ Configuration:Type: Id
    Value: com.ring.answer:id/hangup
    Action : Click
Is Tasker Action: true Timeout (Seconds):23 ]
    A5: Wait [ MS:0 Seconds:4 Minutes:0 Hours:0 Days:0 ]
    A6: Go Home [ Page:0 Package: ]

This shows the task only. Please show description of the whole profile (i.e. context + task) for better debugging. Thanks.

Sorry, but long press on profile does not provide the option to export. Only on a Task.

Ah, I figured it out:

    Profile: Ring Auto Open (8)
    Restore: no
Event: AutoNotification Intercept [ Configuration:Event Behaviour: true
    Notification Type: Only Created Notifications
    Notification Apps: Ring
Notification Title: Someone is at your front door ]
    Enter: Ring Open (9)

Could you please try enabling the option to ignore group notifications in the condition and see how it works? :)

Did you mean Ignore Group Summaries? If so, it made no difference. If not, can you walk me thru finding that option?

Oh, yeah, sorry, I meant that.

Can you please try adding
  • Wait 3 seconds
  • AutoNotification Query
  • See how many ring notifications there are
at the beginning of the task?

Thank you for your contact.

Sorry mate, I'm lost on the last item. Where do I find an option to see how many notifications?

Just do something like a Flash action with %anid(#) 😁

Still doesn't work.

Have you tried Joao's suggestion? What does %anid(#) show?

I did, it doesn't seem to provide any output.

The variable should show a number. For example, 0, 1, 2, ...

If the Flash action doesn't show anything, that means there is an error somewhere in your task. Could you please export the task description again (with Joao's suggestion)?
