NFC scan operation fails with error "NfcAdapter not present" but tasker detects NFC tags otherwise

I wanted to have a task performed when I scan a specific NFC tag but when I click the magnifying glass for the "ID" under NFC Tag, I get the error "NfcAdapter not present".  So I can't make my event specific to each tag.

If I leave the ID blank, it performs the task I assigned but it means every tag does the exact same thing.

I'm using a Pixel 3 XL with NFC enabled (hence tasker actually working when I bring the tag near).

I tried googling for "NfcAdapter not present" but I couldn't find anything.

Thank you!

This resolves the issue and I can scan my tags and it generates a unique code for each.

Hello João,
I too am getting this error, although my phone is a Pixel 2.  I tried your Drive link but it's unavailable.  Is there a different version I could try??

LOVE your Tasker suite of apps.  I am doing some crazy things and looking forward to doing so much more.

Thanks

Hi. The version with the fix I linked to is now already available on Google Play so you should be good to go. Do you have the latest version installed?

I definitely do.  I was able to get around the error just by not attempting to scan it when setting up the profile and just triggering on all NFC scans.

I then Flash the evtprm and was able to find the ID to then put into my profile.  Not sure why the error keeps coming up but my workaround is acceptable.

I'd be interested in creating a profile where I have all the IDs stored somehow (most likely an array) and have a profile that triggers when I scan an ID NOT in the array.  Then if so, I would log the ID and maybe even the location (to jog my memory) for future automating opportunities.

I notice NFC Tag event doesn't have Invert.  How would I handle this?

Thanks,
Greg

For that you simply do not specify an ID at all and then take care of matching the IDs in the task itself :)
Glad you got it to work!
