Retrieve sentence from website to send to group of people by SMS daily

I would like to retrieve the sentence from this website: http://passaparola.focolare.org/ in the language Portuguese and make Tasker send it to a group of people by SMS automatically on a daily basis.

Can I do this? If yes, how?

You can. But that page needs you to select a language and then press the SEND button. I don't know how that works for Tasker. I know basically how to download a page and get the contents, but when it needs clicking and selecting buttons, I don't know how to do that.

I'll follow that discussion. I think it's interesting for me.

Read the link and look for some beginner tasker videos.  That is likely going to be your best path since someone hasn't answered yet.  I'm newish to tasker as well, but I find in other forums that people respond better when you've made basic efforts towards your goal.

For many websites the easiest method is AutoTool's HTML Read action. 

You could also try to do this without a plug-in by using HTTP Request, but that is more complex. 

Do you have to log into the site? 

What website is it and what sentence are you trying to retrieve? 

What are your Tasker  and Android versions?

Hi! No login is required. Only a click on "Portuguese" is. The website is: http://passaparola.focolare.org/ Tasker is v. 5.8.2 Android v. 5.1.1

The difficulty with this website is the language selection page. I cannot find a way to automate clicking Português. 

AutoInput can't help here, unfortunately. 

Do you know of a way to get to the Português page directly?

That's great! You guys make a very good team! :-)

I have one more challenge regarding this matter: I would like to send this as an SMS message to a Group of Contacts. When I click browse on the first parameter of a "send SMS" task (the number), I get the following error: «Alerta. Desculpe, não é possível acessar os dados do contato.» («Alert. Sorry, it's not possible to access the data from the contact») I suppose this means I must write the numbers by hand, isn't it? But then I don't know how I should separate them. From the tests I've made a simple comma or semi-colon do not seem to work (I've tested using my number two times and I only get one message back). Do you know how to tackle this issue?

I've just noticed I should use a comma (online help) and I've tested now successfully! This should be enough for now. The only thing that bothers me a little is having 29 messages sent to 29 separate contacts instead of having only one group message... :-/

I think I wasn't 100% clear in the previous messages: I am very thankful to all of you for helping me with this issue! Looking forward for that group messages support. BTW, it would be a plus to have the possibility of creating an icon/shortcut to run a task on the Android main screen with just a click. This is helpful, because I cannot automate completely this task; to use this task I need mobile data (which I only want on for a couple of minutes while running this task) and Tasker cannot turn mobile data on and off automatically without root access - which I'm not willing to activate - and I use a sleep-facilitator app on my bedroom, where I got no Wifi). You can already add it to main screen :) Long click your home screen and add the Tasker Shortcut widget.

That's great! Just done that. I was trying to add the task to the screen from inside the app, didn't found an option there and didn't thought about that. One small caveat of that option: I mistakenly hit it when moving icons on the screen. Maybe there could be an optional Yes/No prompt for running the task to prevent this kind of mistake I just did.

Add a scene at the beginning of the task confirming the action. Then the "yes" can continue the task and the "no" can cancel you out of the task.

So how did you get it to send the message to your contacts?  What was the rest of the task?

final piece should have been

Action: Send SMS 
Message: %quote
and I believe To field would have number of every recipient separated by a comma.
