Hey all, Tarbell 1.0.2 is out. Most of the improvements here are minor, with two notable exceptions: The (backwards compatible) integration of Frozen-Flask for site generation and a fix for a major bug with S3 uploading in recent Python versions. Here's what changed:

You can run `pip install -U tarbell` to get the latest version.

I'm looking forward to integrating the Knight Lab's awesome admin GUI work in 1.1. I've also been working on a DeckJS powered NPR Visuals style slideshow blueprint with asset minification and a set of useful configuration options for analytics.

Going forward:
  • On immediate horizon (v1.1 ~ August): Lots more recipes and examples in the docs, get away from using branches to specify version compatibility in blueprints, better error pages, Tarbell configuration GUI.
  • Longer term (v1.2+ ~ fall and beyond): Tarbell project administration GUI, configuration refactoring, Authomatic for OAuth, integration with other publishing platforms like Github pages.

Thanks everybody!

I'm really excited about the fixes in this release.

However, I'm getting a little bit of weirdness when trying to install 1.0.2. with pip.

PyPI seems to know about tarbell 1.0.2:

pip search tarbell
tarbell                   - A very simple content management system
  INSTALLED: 1.0.1
  LATEST:    1.0.2

But installing it, not so much:

pip install tarbell==1.0.2
Downloading/unpacking tarbell==1.0.2
  Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement tarbell==1.0.2 (from versions: 0.9a1, 0.9b1, 0.9b2, 0.9b3, 0.9b4, 0.9b5, 0.9b6, 1.0.1, 1.0)
Cleaning up...
No distributions matching the version for tarbell==1.0.2

Installing from GitHub worked for me, at least:

Has anyone else had issues with this?  Am I just being dense?

Thanks,
Geoff

Dang. There was some weirdness with the Pypi upload but it seemed fine on my end. I'll take another look tonight.

Thanks Geoff, this should be resolved now with a 1.0.3 release. Since 1.0.1, PyPI changed how package removal worked without any warning or change in the UI. I needed to fix a minor issue in the 1.0.2 release which broke the pip install for that version.
