Lots of good news to report today!

The winners of the Trail Naming are attached - have a look! Thanks to everyone for their input. I think we did a great job.
There may be some issue with renaming roads that are already identified on maps (Craryville Road) and we are working with the Town Board and the County EMS to get clarification, so for now we're keeping Craryville.

Andrew and Pete are at the forest today, gathering trail data for each trail to fill out a table which will be part of the kiosk map.

The driveway parking lot area contract has been signed and work will begin early in April and should be finished by May.

We are working on the fun and fulfilling work of obtaining an entrance sign permit, 911 address, and DOT "Conservation Area" roadsigns.

Tim and I are meeting the PRISM folks on April 16th at 9:30am to do some invasive mapping and plan some work for the volunteers on 5/2. Let me know if you want to join us.

Blue Stem Way was cleared of fallen trees last week and is well on the way to being a "real" trail!

The perimeter around the tree planting area was cleaned and cleared with no winter damage to the fence. We will need to attach the fence to the guide wires in a few areas.

Many of the old "no trespassing" signs were taken down.

A cordial discussion was held with the adjacent landowner who was at the February meeting who was concerned about the "shooting range" and he is now satisfied with our range protocol.

The Committee has aligned on a final version of the MOU with Kinfolk Hunting and will offer the agreement to Queers and Camo for review.

We already have over 30 volunteers who have signed up for the May 2nd event. Let's continue to get the word out and see if we can top last years participation of over 100!

The opening day planning subcommittee is working on an excellent lineup. Bioblitzes, (birds, amphibians, plants, moths and bats!) kayaking, forester walks, a raptor presentation, tree ID, food, ice cream....

Patrick has embedded a TCF event calendar on the CLC website to help everyone keep abreast of events.

June 6 is coming up fast and we have lots to do, but our big items are all on track and we continue to have great participation in getting things done. I propose we meet in mid-April to firm up our tasks for both volunteer day and opening day.

Thursday, April 9 or Friday, April 10, 4:30-6 Taghkanic Town Hall? I'm going to skip food offerings out of respect for the folks on ZOOM and everyone's time. Let me know which day works best and if you're planning on in-person or ZOOM.

The Community Forest Gods continue to smile on us.
Bets
