This is perhaps a little off-topic, but let's face it, there are not many places to talk about this game anymore. However, despite it being over 25 years old, there's still life in Syndicate Wars yet. One thing many people don't realise is there's a huge amount of content that was shipped with the game, and even if you complete every level of both campaigns, you've only seen a quarter of it. In fact there are 215 levels!
Did you know there was a third campaign starring the unguided punks? Most of that is present and playable in the game files.
I've been looking into this and reverse engineering the game, and documenting my findings here (
https://tcrf.net/Syndicate_Wars_(DOS)), including how to play those levels.
There are also two different level formats, and only one of them actually works with the released game, leaving about 73 shipped levels that cannot be played. However, I've written a convertor script (
https://github.com/Moburma/SWLevelConvertor) that will let you play these levels that have been unplayable for a quarter of a century.
With the above and some other developments, it looks like this might yet be an interesting year for such an old game...
