I like very much the rinterp function from the FriCAS computer algebra system.
For that reason, I adapted it for Sympy; I think it would be nice to have it with other
interpolation functions and as far as I know it doesn't exist yet in Sympy.
Would you consider adding it to Sympy?

And (as told in the docstring) I adapted it from the algorithm described at:

Thanks a lot for your code. That would indeed be a great addition to SymPy.
Just submit us a GitHub Pull Request and other people will help you
integrate it. It will also have to have a test.
