I see quite a few GSoC proposals on the wiki. I just want to remind
everyone that proposals do not count unless they are submitted in
Melange. The deadline is not for another week, but it's better to keep
submitting as you go. You can make changes to your proposal in Melange
up to the deadline. Melange is notorious for issues, so I highly
recommend not waiting until the deadline to submit things. Also,
Google has a zero tolerance policy for late submissions, regardless of
the excuse.

Let's get the discussions started on these proposals if you haven't
already. Looking through the proposals on the wiki, I already see some
good ones, and I already see some issues with some of them that should
be address (in particular, make sure you follow the template at
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2014-Application-template).
In particular, please put a list of all pull requests that you have
submitted at the top of your application with links. This makes it
much easier for us to review your work.

Hi,
Even I wanted to discuss the organisation of the new assumption module. Could you please guide me on my proposal as to that?

Another reminder for this. I will try to carve out some time this
weekend to give comments on applications, but I will not do it for any
application that is not on Melange. So please, everyone who plans to
apply, put what you've got so far on Melange. There are quite a few
people that I know what to apply that have nothing on Melange (at
least for SymPy, for PyDy, I can't see what has been submitted to
PSF).

I will post mine by today night on melange. The proposal should probably be in its final draft then, so I wont have to change it much (I have my quizzes next week, so in a bit of a time crunch for the next few days). The formatting differences between wiki and melange are a pain though.

Yes, especially the part with code block.

Regarding the formatting issues: if you can't work around Melange
formatting, put a link to your proposal on the Wiki at the top of the
page (but still include the full proposal text in Melange). I was a
student two years, so I know quite well how painful formatting is in
their editor. We won't penalize you for formatting.

I just submitted a draft to sympy on melange. It said "successfully saved", but I can't see my proposal in my submissions. In case it didn't work, here's a link to the current draft: https://github.com/pydy/pydy/wiki/GSoC-2014-Application:-Jim-Crist-%28Linearization-Routines-for-Equations-of-Motion%29

I can't speak for PSF, but if you submitted it to SymPy, I don't see it.

Sahil, that might be a problem because Proof Of Enrollment is supposed to certify that as of now you are still studying in an institution or a university.

http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/document/show/gsoc_program/google/gsoc2014/proofofenrollment

Go through the link . It gives a list of documents that can be submitted as a Proof Of Enrollment.
