Self Introduction and Query about GSoC 2023. (Group Theory)

Hello everyone, I, Aritra, am in my final year pursuing a B.E. degree at Jadavpur University. I have used symbolic mathematics in Python (SymPy) and MATLAB and therefore have a good understanding of how it works (not the underlying logic, but rather how it should work).

Also, I am extremely interested in discrete mathematics and related topics that include Computational Group Theory.
As a part of GSoC-2023, I want to focus on that particular topic and want to extend the functionalities of SymPy, previously implemented by the GSoC contributors back in 2019, '18. (I have checked the blogs and wikis).
I'm not sure how this works, afaik I need a mentor for this project. Can somebody give me a lead on how I should apply for the same?
