How to use Dirac Delta.

Hello all,
I am trying to understand how to use the dirac delta function to process a signal. But couldn't find nothing helpful until now.
What I am trying right now it to send a signal to de DiracDelta(f(x)) where my x is an array of signals from a sinusoid (just for testing) .
Should I translate the signal back to a fourier function and then add it as the f(x) and use the x as an array ?
I am no electrical engineer so please I beg your help.
