Hi Imran,

Competitive coding and Software Development are two different things. But don't worry even if you are new you can learn things easily.

First of all i would suggest you to go through these following links:
Once you are done with these then you can look into :
  • Easy to fix Bugs (This way you can get better understanding of the Sympy codebase)
Once you are okay with the development workflow and sympy codebase, you can start looking into projects and choose among them:
And level of skills required would vary from projects to projects. So, once you find a project that interests you, you can start working on the skills required.

You can ask any doubt at gitter or maling list.

Also,
read your blog.

But i am still a bit confuse and vulnerable regrading the Gsoc
cause, for now i can only solve the specific problem(s) like on codechef and hacker Earth
Submitting the bug patches and all that are new to me.
and also not sure about the "Level of the skills required"
i.e.C++ ,Python

i request you to guide me
how you prepared.
what were your skills before GSoc
will i be able to learn those in 2 months if i am not good at it
what mindset is required.
