Hi all,

We're gearing up for a SymPy 1.6.1 bugfix release because a few issues
have come up since releasing 1.6.

The list of issues that will be addressed in 1.6.1 is here:
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A%22SymPy+1.6.1%22

Note that this release will not be from the current master branch.
Rather we will cherry-pick the changes to the issues listed at the
1.6.1 milestone and apply them to the 1.6 branch which is currently
unchanged since the 1.6 release. Only those changes that are
explicitly backported to the 1.6 branch will be included in the 1.6.1
release. That includes issues that have already been fixed on the
master branch - those won't be included if we don't explicitly know
that they are regressions.

If you know of any bugs or regressions in 1.6 that aren't listed there
please say so now. Also if you've been meaning to test your own code
with 1.6 but haven't done so yet then now would be a good time...

Oscar
