MATLAB Parser for SymPy as GSoC 2025 Project

Hi everyone, 

I'm considering applying for GSoC 2025 to implement a MATLAB parser for SymPy, focused on converting MATLAB symbolic math expressions to SymPy expressions. 

Quick questions: 

1) Would this be a good fit for my GSoC proposal? 

2) Are there mentors available for this? 

3) Should I use ANTLR or a modern parsing tool like Lark for this project? 

I have some experience with parsers and am excited to contribute. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
