Hi, 

I am Praful Gupta, a second year undergraduate at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. 

I will be a GSoC applicant this year under SymPy.

I am doing a dual degree course with M.Sc in Mathematics and B.E(Hons) in Electronics and Communication.

I went through the idea page and in the section for Group theory it was mentioned that some work has already been done in discrete groups. 

Would someone please elaborate to as what has been done?

Maybe search the code and the docs to see what is already implemented. You can search the github issues as well.
