Hi everyone!
My name is Vincent, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in computer science with a specialization in quantum information at the University of Waterloo. I am interested in building on the quantum physics package included in SymPy for a GSoC 2015 project. Namely, there are functions that I would like to see included, i.e. partial transposition, partial trace, etc. Specifically of interest is the implementation of various functions related to notions in quantum entanglement theory. These functions would also be useful to quantum information theorists interested in operator algebras and, more generally, quantum information.
I'd also like to help with the existing quantum physics package. Initially, adding tests for "apply_operators" as noted in "operator.py", along with any other residual bugs that exist in this package to help familiarize myself with the code base.
I would love to turn this into a GSoC project for 2015 for those interested in a richer set of quantum functionality!
Cheers!
Vincent
