I personally feel that like other CAS ( mathematica for example )  in order to increase our user-base we need to extend to the web and add parsing functionality (was also a GSOC proposed project) so that anyone without much know-how can use it. I am not sure how strongly other experienced developers feel about it but i want to do this. We already have SymPyGamma but not much it being done to improve it which is a bit upsetting.

To do that i seek everyone's suggestions about the project which i proposed as my GSOC proposal:
Is there something which i must not do or something which i missed ?

I can not commit full time so it might be slow but i will try my best. Please help me to make SymPy even better
Thanks

And also, @Aaron or @Ondrej can you tell me what is it that i lack which lead to the Rejection of my GSOC Proposal, I want to improve on those factors..
Thanks

Sahil,

Web based plotting is something that many people desire and are working on at the moment. One or more of the existing projects (or a new one) are going to be the next generation plotting that everyone uses. SymPy, on the other hand, doesn't really need to compete in this plotting race, we simply need to use whatever the best plotting libs are. In the long term, SymPy's "plotting" functionality should simply output data that can be consumed by the most popular plotting libraries. SymPy Gamma will of course need to output to the most popular web plotting library. Most of the core devs seemed to agree with this when we reviewed the GSoC proposals. But, also which proposals we choose are based on a lot of factors: proposal quality, patch # and quality, interaction with the community, available mentors, project fit, likelihood of success, likelihood of use, etc. For a combination of those reasons, your proposal didn't make the cut. Maybe others can comment more on specific feedback about what you could have done to improve your chances of success with GSoC.

Thanks for your continued interest. We can still help you move forward with your ideas.

Thank you Jason for enlightening me...maybe my idea was not that much good for SymPy.
So now i think that i should drop the idea and try to work on SymPyGamma only to enable it to plot in 3D.
Also, you mentioned the cross platform/ cross browser trouble in PyDy. Is it fixed? I can try and solve it!

Also, note that even though WebGL is supported in most of the latest browser versions, this will not work with a lot of peoples systems. We've had tons of trouble getting the visualizations to run cross browser and cross platform. I still haven't figured out MAC yet.

We still don't have the pydy visualizer workign perfectly in all browser and all platforms.

Issues are here: https://github.com/pydy/pydy/issues?state=open

We'd more than welcome help improving it.
