Potential mentors for Physics Project(Bond Graph)

Greetings,

I am Parthesh Savla, an undergraduate 3rd Year student in Mechatronics Engineering. I feel interested in contributing to sympy. I have a strong background in System Dynamics and hence thoroughly know about Bond Graphs. I know Python but haven't used it for developing an API. Being an engineer by basics about differential equations and solving them is good too. I want to do a project in System Dynamics: Bond Graph Tools.

However I couldn't find a mentor to contact and proceed further. If any mentor can get in touch with me I will surely complete this project. Also what am I expected to do before submitting an application?
