Hi Gav and other members of the robo Dino club,
I aim to go to the club makerspace on the weekend on Saturday morning on the 20th of October.
I can probably catch the bus to meadowbank train station eventually and make my own way there eventually on the bus.
I can apply for the starving student membership I guess. I aim to study a certificate 3 in IT with a focus on computer programming next year at tafe online part time.
I have been practicing computer programming using some apps on my mobile smartphone in my spare time during lockdown.
My brother works professionally as a computer programmer he drove me to the robo Dino club today and I saw the three guys from the Sydney robotics club today at the robo Dino club makerspace.
Both my father and brother are qualified engineers and my mother worked in IT for most of her life as a technical writer and computer programmer.
I may study at TAFE for higher level IT courses perhaps part time or full time after the cert 3 in IT but I can see how I go with the cert 3 part time at tafe.
I have been able to complete a certificate 2 in horticulture at TAFE. I used to work doing garden maintenance and nursery work.
Hasquana a maker of gardening equipment I saw had an advertisement for new robot lawnmowers I saw on the TV recently. That company is meant to make quiet leaf blowers too.
I have a few ideas for improved gardening equipment from working as a gardener/horticulturalist for several years. I could possibly work on them at the makerspace or just discuss them perhaps.
Anyway I guess I can try to meetup on Saturday morning on the 20th of October. I aim to possibly bring my robot I made from a kit and maybe arduino electronics starter kit.
I used to be an informal member of MURC the macquarie uni robotics club but was let out of the club as I was not a university student.
Anyway at MURC they brought in old radio control cars. Ripped them apart and took the controllers and motors and salvaged other usable parts to be used in robots to be built by the club. I am unsure whether the robo Dino club is into doing that.
I guess I can meet up with club members on Saturday morning on the 20th of October. Also how many members of the club are planning to meetup or usually meetup on Saturdays at the club?.
I also would like to know what happens with club general meetings and when they are I did not read much of the information that one of the other club members wrote before regarding meetings etc. I can refer back to it later perhaps in the email thread.
Regards,
Tom
