Hello, my name is Emmanuel Gomez and I am working at the Mexican own state power company “Comisión Federal de Electricidad”. I work on a division who´s leading the develop and integration of renewable sources to the national grid. As you know the main challenge in the integration of this kind of sources is modeling their performance and the future impact to the grid. Nowadays we are using in the company the Plexus model, and we are having a technical assistance from NREL for learning and use the SAINT model, nevertheless, I would like to not depend on commercial software, is it possible to have a kind of assistance from you in order to learn more about the software that you design and see if could be an option for the things that we want to promote, like local generation (generation from side of the demand with renewable resources) and energy storage systems.

Best regards

It's good to hear from you. Switch is generally run with less grid detail than PLEXOS, but it has a better ability to model high-renewable power systems than PLEXOS or SAINT, especially moving towards 100% renewables, when battery storage and demand-side flexibility become important.

I'd be happy to meet about Switch sometime. You can contact me at mfr...@hawaii.edu.
