Here it is, assuming the pics upload. The only things in the Swift Solo are sails and the rudder cassette/tiller/extensions, and the Force 5 has only its cover in it. Nothing on top (both masts, both booms, both dolly spines) put any weight on the F5 either. I’ve also switched out the F5’s monstrous dolly wheels for smaller ones that should fit in the kayaks (the Swift’s already do). I’m still looking for options on the trailer for them that won’t increase tongue weight, as these Volvos have weird low tongue weight ratings for some reason despite 3300lb tow weights and the front-heavy sailboats and winch mast addition don’t help things.
There’s still one clearance thing to deal with, but otherwise I’m pretty happy. With the SS and mast off, the F5 lowers easily and clears everything with no problem. With the mast off, it even [just barely] fits in my garage with two cars. Except for the six mounts for the uprights, the top level is completely removable if I should so desire, converting back to a SS-only trailer. Total weight with both boats and all of the other crap should be under 1200lbs, and the car (with 350lb-ft of torque and huge brakes) doesn’t seem to care that it’s back there at all.
Now I’m officially committed. The only thing left to do is actually learn how to sail the Swift. 😂
