Temperature experiment

Today I had lunch on the beach at Paradise Cove, in Malibu California.

It was a hot sunny day. When we returned to the car park there were many black cars and white cars. The black cars were almost too hot to touch. The white cars were merely warm. I sampled several black and white cars. It was a nice demonstration of how effective the white roof on a Swift box can be.

That sounds a great experiment to replicate around the world where are you off to next!  Hope you have a great trip!

both on internal and external boxes in the various locations and aspects on buildings to have a good data set…and compared to natural nest sites?
