Well done everyone. Each individual can make a difference, and we must never give up trying.

There was a full house today at the Watershed in Bristol for the premier of
the wonderful community conservation film made by Justin Anderson and a
group of volunteers.

2 swifts arrived thismorning at 10.16am whilst we were nest box fitting in
the next road up.

They stayed above the Pound Road coliny for around 40 minutes.

Hurrah!

Hi everyone,
On Friday afternoon all 3 blocked nesting sites on the Network Rail viaduct were unblocked. This was due to the strength of feeling (over 13,000 emails were sent).
Thanks to all those who helped with this. Fortunately those swifts have yet to return so hopefully they will never know how close they came to becoming homeless!
Best wishes,
Hannah

Hello

As a bell ringer my advice would be to approach the bell tower captain of the church you are interested in and have a chat in person with your plans. The communication between the church as in the congregation and the bell ringers can be limited so getting everyone involved at the start stops any surprises!

You can find contact details from the bell ringers bible called Dove Guide

https://dove.cccbr.org.uk/dove <https://dove.cccbr.org.uk/dove>

Then there is information on swift box installations on the Central Council for Bell Ringers website on this link:

https://belfryupkeep.cccbr.org.uk/docs/020-permissions/static/swifts-v1-4.pdf <https://belfryupkeep.cccbr.org.uk/docs/020-permissions/static/swifts-v1-4.pdf>

Lastly the CCBR also has useful information on bell projects which would equally apply to swift box installation in a belfry:

https://cccbr.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Top-10-bell-project-hints.pdf <https://cccbr.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Top-10-bell-project-hints.pdf>

Better go off to a bell ringing competition in Tavistock!

All the best

Alistair
